Primary School

Primary school years are arguably some of the most pivotal and transformative years of a student’s school journey. During this time, students are establishing their identities, building strong relationships within the school community, and laying the foundations for future learning and personal development. As students navigate this period of change, our programs are designed to support them, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to understand and engage with the complexities of the world around them. Our academic offerings aim to engage students in a variety of rich learning experiences, fostering a sense of curiosity and wonder. We emphasise the importance of equality and inclusion, ensuring that every student feels valued and supported. By promoting social and emotional well-being, we help students build resilience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills. Our goal is to create a nurturing environment where every child can thrive, learn, and grow, both academically and personally, guided by the light of faith.

Early Learning

The early years of learning are the foundation of your child’s education and at Immaculate Heart College, we recognise the importance of offering a safe, inclusive and enriching learning environment. Our Early Learning classes provide opportunities for children to grow and challenge themselves through play and hands-on learning experiences, while encouraging an inquiry mindset to enhance their agency. Our programs are designed around the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the Western Australian Curriculum. They are also guided by the Child Safe Organisations National Principles and the National Quality Standards. Our focus on community involvement has created an inclusive culture within our school as we work closely with families to support our students in their learning. The Early Learning Centre’s buildings are fully enclosed and include classes from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 2.

Pre-Kindergarten Program

Our Early Learning classes start with a Pre-Kindergarten program for three-year olds, which runs twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays from 9:00am to 3:00pm. The children’s social and emotional development is nurtured, as they begin to experience school life. The school day follows a similar structure to our full-time classes and learning is focused on the foundational skills to support our children in their learning and development in future years.

Kindergarten Program

Our Kindergarten program runs three days a week and operates on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30am to 3:15pm. The EYLF guides our practice as we facilitate engaging play-based learning experiences. The children are supported to develop key social and emotional skills and knowledge through experiences created around their interests, strengths and current understandings.

Full-Time Classes: Pre-primary to Year 2

Our full-time classes include Pre-primary, Year 1 and Year 2. These classes run from Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 3:15pm. Our programs are developed around both the EYLF and the Western Australian Curriculum. The Early Learning teaching staff have a passion for supporting the growth and development of our children in the early years of their lives. We facilitate experiences which allow students to grow and develop whilst also building on their strengths. Children attend specialists’ classes including Music, Drama, Physical Education, Greek and Theology.

By focusing on a holistic approach to early education, Immaculate Heart College aims to foster an environment where children can thrive both academically and personally, preparing them for a successful future.
