From the Principal

I extend to you all, a very warm welcome to Immaculate Heart College (IHC) in Lower Chittering.

Our K-12 college is situated in a very unique and natural setting surrounded by the local flora and fauna of the area and is situated adjacent to the impressive Divine Mercy Church located in Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Parish.

A relatively young college established in 2012, I became College Principal in May 2022. Having taught and lead in all three educational sectors now, I can safely say that IHC is a very unique and beautiful community. We are incredibly blessed by very devoted and talented staff who seek to holistically form all our students. We are a Christ-centred and child-safe organisation which promotes and lives the Gospel values through our daily witness and practice.

IHC offers the full breadth and depth of a comprehensive curriculum with the added opportunities to study subjects rarely offered at other schools in WA. We offer ATAR and General pathways in Secondary with WACE and WASSA students being well catered for within the timetable.

The college is fortunate this year to be organised into three distinct yet symbiotic ‘schools’ comprising of Primary, Secondary and Theology, Faith & Liturgy. We are excited to welcome new leaders on board who will be able to guide our college into the next phase of development, which includes new building and remodelling projects, as well as a new STEM focus. We are also very blessed to have such a committed and vibrant Parents and Friends Association who are very active within the community.

The college prides itself in the service opportunities we offer through extra-curricular clubs, student leadership and the contemporary pedagogies that our staff engage in to continually inform best practice in order to maximise student learning and achievement.

Please contact us if you would like to find out more about our beautiful and innovative community at Immaculate Heart College, where the heart of Our Blessed Mother Mary is truly reflected through our students.

God bless,

Sammantha Da Luz
